Zinc anodes
It is well-researched fact that when dissimilar metals are immersed in an electrolyte (Seawater, brackish river or lake water), corrosion occurs. Whenever the construction, craft usually have dissimilar metal under water, such as rudders, shafts, propellers and the associated fittings. Many of these parts are expensive and Cathodic Protection is the least costly method of protecting them.
Wooden, G.R.P., Alloy and Steel Craft can all benefit from corrosion control. The most important & internationally accepted standard for the manufacture & performance of Zinc Alloy Anodes is the U.S. Military Specification No.18001H.
Our Zinc Alloy Anodes conform to this specification and are made in accordance with ISO9002. Simple to fit for all boats. The Anodes indicated in this catalogue are a small part of this range. There is an Anode for every craft. Please send a sketch and specification details of your boat if you are in doubt about the best method of protection for specific craft.
Stud fixed type anodes

Two designs are offered, one with the fixing holes in lugs at each end and the other with the holes in the body of the annode. In all cases the mounting hole centres are 200mm apart which is standard in Ireland and Britain and commonly found throughout Europe.
Fixing holes are for flat fasteners (e.g. hex-head bolts or nuts) rather than countersunk. Larger size annodes also available to order

System Selection Guide
|
Design Formula: Length water line LWL x (Beam + Draught) = Wetted Surface Area.
For Medium Displacement yachts, the Wet. Surface Area can be reduced by multiplying by 0.75.
For Light Displacement yachts a multiplication factor of 0.50 can be used.
