SeaStar Hydraulic steerings

SeaStar Hydraulic steerings are a premium quality product.
Compared with competitor's steerings, SeaStar offers:

  • More comfort for the helmsman.
  • Longer life
  • Greater reliability
  • The preferred choice of North American OEM boatbuilders.

The system consists of

  • Cylinder
  • Helm Pump
  • Hoses/Pipes
  • Hydraulic Fluid
  • Possible Optional Extras
Matching the system to the vessel, requires taking account of hull type, type and total power of engine(s), number of rudders, etc.
These factors determine the choice of cylinder required and the helm is then matched to the cylinder. The full range of SeaStar
hydraulic steerings are available but the following products will meet most requirements.

SeaStar helms
The helm pump is the heart of a hydraulic steering system. SeaStar helm pumps are the product of many years of research and experience by the world’s foremost builder of manual hydraulic steering systems. SeaStar helms feature maximum steering comfort engineered into a compact, stylish design incorporating easy-access filling. All helms include hose elbows and tube fittings, steering wheel lock nut/woodruff key and mounting hardware. SeaStar offers helms for front mounting, rear mounting behind the dash, adjustable tilt helms and Capilano helms with adjustable number of wheel turns. The front mount helms are most popular and dimensions for these are shown below.
